RAM Creates Texas Ranger Concept Truck

On March 25, 2015, the RAM truck brand introduced its Texas Ranger concept truck at the 2015 Dallas Auto Show. The reason the truck was released was to recognize RAM’s partnership with the Texas Ranger lawmen and the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum. According to Bob Hegbloom, President and CEO — RAM Truck, FCA US LLC, “Although Rangers are well-known horsemen, today Texans drive more pickups than drivers in any other state in the country.” This edition of the RAM truck was made to tour Texas and make people aware of the Texas Rangers Hall of Fame and Museum, which is the official historical center of the Texas Rangers that was established in 1964 that has an educational center and library. It is believed that showings of this pickup will attract more visitors to the Museum. Officials have not decided whether or not the Texas Ranger Concept truck will be produced for the general public to purchase (it depends on its popularity); no pricing or timing for the truck has been announced.

The Texas Ranger’s badges bring out the RAM’s interior and exterior design. Did you know that Ranger badges were made with the inspiration of Mexican five-peso coins? In essence, the badges on the pickup represent these coins. Each of the four 20-inch wheels has a milled-aluminum Texas Ranger center cap. As for the pickup’s color, it has a Bright White and Bright Silver Metallic two-tone color scheme.

The Texas Ranger Concept Truck celebrates the Texas Rangers’ founding, with the year the Texas Rangers was founded–1823–printed on the instrument panel badge. The truck has an 8.4-inch Uconnect center console. It has plenty of leather stitching, and Natura Plus leather is some of this brown and tan leather. The leather seating has Texas Ranger badges, and the gauge cluster splash screen also has Texas Ranger badging. The front and rear grab handles are wrapped in leather. The door bolsters contain four real Mexican five-peso silver coins. The steering wheel has the RAM badge and milled-aluminum, along with tan accent “X” stitching.

Did you know that 20% of motor vehicle registrations in Texas were for pickup trucks? On average, 12% of motor vehicle registrations in the United States are for pickup trucks. RAM sells almost two-and-a-half times as many pickups in Texas than it does in any other state! RAM recognized this back in 2002, and introduced the RAM Lone Star edition to reflect this. The Texas Ranger concept truck further emphasizes the popularity of pickups in Texas.
