Jeep Wins Big at Texas Truck Rodeo

Jeep took the top awards at the 2014 Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA) Texas Truck Rodeo. Well over 60 TAWA judges cast votes for the rodeo, during a two-day competition which included both off and on road driving evaluations. The organization studied design, value, utility and technology within detailed scoring categories, in addition to general capability of the vehicles.

The TAWA president, Michael Marrs, spoke about the extraordinary lineup of products brought to the Truck Rodeo by the Chrysler Group. He enthused about the quality and performance of the Jeep products, especially their continually impressive, innovative qualities that are tough for other car brands to beat. In particular, Marrs commended the Jeep Grand Cherokee for its ability to continue to outshine other competition in its class, and by again winning the title of “SUV of Texas”.
Mike Manley, President and CEO of Jeep Brand, Chrysler Group LLC., thanked those who again voted for the Jeep Grand Cherokee as the SUV of Texas, and remarked that Jeep vehicles came out on top in every category they entered in the competition. He commended voters for recognizing Jeep’s unmatched features, including fuel economy, 4×4 capability, overall performance and luxury. He concluded his speech by acknowledging the important part Texas plays in the competitive SUV market, and how critical it is for Jeep to continue to win at the TAWA awards.
The legendary Jeep Grand Cherokee remains the most awarded SUV ever by defining what it means to be a premium SUV. The 2015 model received even more upgraded content, both on exterior and interior, in addition to the qualities that make it a classic. With an updated exterior design, including bi-xenon headlamps and signature LED daytime running lamps, the Jeep Grand Cherokee exudes a premium appearance both inside and out, with an interior that boasts Natural leather, unique color offerings and open-pore wood trim. Delivering a highway mpg of 30 miles per gallon, the Jeep Grand Cherokee is best in its class for fuel economy. Coming courtesy of three 4×4 systems, Jeep’s Quadra-Life air suspension reveals class-leading capability. The Grand Cherokee touts a towing capability of 7,400 ounds with a crawl ratio of 44.1:1.
